Lost Forever

I'm a scientist. It's my profession. It's what I am and a part of what defines 'me'. I respect technology. But our capacity to accomplish specific tasks should have ended at certain points in history to preserve our Humanity. Some of our abilities should be limited to our physical abilities, namely our capacity to move and our capacity to kill.

I work in the field of physical biochemistry, I utilize a great deal of computer power, and I work at the forefront of technology. I also utilize centuries-old technology to get to work day by day. If there's a job, there's a proper implement for said job.

There's really no reason besides laziness, weakness, and complacency for us to make trips under five miles with an automobile, just like there's no reason to kill thousands if you aren't capable of doing so without a sword. Relying on technology has created a substantial population of individuals who question their physical capacity in lieu of a mechanical assistance.

We are not merely creatures capable of technological advancement, we are capable of presaging the outcome of our actions. I respect technology, it brought me butted tubesets and freewheels (I coast from time to time). But technology, like so many things, can be overextended, if you drink too much water, you will die. YOU WILL DIE. IF YOU DRINK TOO MUCH WATER YOU WILL DIE!

We're exceptionally good at developing technology to make our lives seem easier, maybe we've sacrificed wisdom for intelligence. A samurai may kill a man with a sword, but he will do so with reason and necessity, a present-day politician can kill millions if the public deems it expedient. Wisdom is the slave of technology. You don't need that iron contraption you call a car, you've simply convinced yourself of that fact. Your legs are strong, your lungs are full, and your heart...your heart is unbound.

CHOOSE to be smarter than the wiselessness about you!!
